Mary's Nashville Review!

Okay, so i don't even know where to start. It was seriously the best day of my life. I had the most fun i've had at a concert in forever. It surpassed all my expectations and I didn't want it to end.

So my roommate Meaghan and I came home from The University of Tennessee in Knoxville Sunday for the concert. We were so pumped to see them, I was especially because HS is my favorite band. I love them a ton. (:

Monday started early for us. I met Meaghan at 10 to get some finishing touches for our gifts for the guys, and then headed downtown to the Rutledge. We met some of our awesome friends there, and then headed off to The River because Meaghan had won passes for the acoustic show. (: We got there around 2:45ish. The guys hadn't arrived yet, and everything was pushed back due to their flight being late and the horrible traffic on the interstate.

Finally a little after 4 we were let into the lobby, and waited. Me and Meaghan made our way up to the front and bolted for the center lovesack in McFadden's Garage once doors were open. Perfect view. Intern Adam came out and started talking to us, and talked to me and Meaghan a lot about college. Haha. And if we knew any football players and we talked about how our football team isn't the greatest right now. Then, it was time for a surprise guest. (: Esmee came out and sang some. She's really good! And she did a fantastic job. We all sang happy birthday to her and then it was time for the boys to come out! I had made a little sign that said "We'd only skip college for you." Michael saw it as soon as they walked out and started laughing. They sang Over You and I made some serious eye contact with Michael, it made me laugh. Haha. Then Two Rebels and that's one of my favorites. Then See U In The Dark. Next up were the pictures. (: Me and Meaghan were a wreck trying to get our gifts together so we ended up being almost last. We walked up to them, and I gave Andrew and Alexander theirs and Meaghan gave Jason and Michael theirs. They loved them. We got them random gifts from our bookstore on campus because we just thought it'd be hilarious. Andrew especially loved them because they were orange! It resulted in our awesome m&g picture. (: We said our goodbyes and told them we'd see them in a little bit.

We got back to the Rutledge and back to the front of the line and waited FOREVER or so it seemed. It was a ton of fun hanging out with awesome friends. Finally we were let in and to get our meet and greets. The show started later than it was supposed to, and it was so hot while we were waiting. I ended up directly in front of Jason's mic stand and his keyboard and the perfect spot for Alex. (: Esmee performed and did good again. Then the boys came out. I was freaking out. I was so excited, and i missed them a ton! Full Moon Crazy started and the party started. It was just a blast. Michael sang to me and Alex pointed at me all the time with his drumstick. Also, during one part where Michael was talking I made a heart with my hands at Alexander, he made one back at me, it was the most awesome thing ever. And at one point Andrew had run back over to his side of the stage to sing background, he then randomly leaned around Michael while playing and gave me the biggest smile. (: They all sounded so good and were right on key, and so pumped. We were a really loud, and you could tell how excited they were just by their stage presence. (: My mission for the day was to get Alexander's drumstick. That was all i wanted. I made a sign that said "Alexander! drumstick please?" He saw it and would smile at me, and gave me the thumbs up. (: Right before Don't Close the Book, Michael threw his towel into the crowd and Andrew was right in front of me and about to do the same thing. I just put my arm up thinking i might as well try and get it. He pretended to throw it out into the crowded, and then winked at me and just handed it to me. Haha. Finally, the show was coming to a close and I wanted Alex's drumstick. I held my sign the entire time and Meaghan would point at it whenever Alexander looked at me. He'd just laugh and smile. Long story short, right before their final bow, he walked over to me, and handed it to me. I had a mini freak out and cheered some more. (:

Then was the meet and greet and mine was pretty long because I was talking to Alex about their presents. (: And everything else. Then we went back and got in line for the signing, and talked some more when we saw them again.

Pretty much, it was the best night of my life.
I had alot of fun! And i didn't expect all the things i got. I ended up with Alexander's drumstick, and he signed it afterwards for me, Andrew's towel, and Michael and Jason's picks.

I just had a ton of fun, and they proved to me once again why they are my favorite. I'm so proud of them. (:

Another Nashville Review (Tommy2.net)

Tommy2.net

Last night, Honor Society’s Fashionably Late Tour paid a visit to The Rutledge in Nashville, TN. And… just like other previous shows, it was Fashionable Late. Doors opened a full hour behind schedule.

Starting things off, fans were in for a first as the Fashionably Late tour featured Dutch pop star Esmee Denters, who will be opening for Honor Society the rest of their tour. Not only was it her first night on the tour, but also her 21st Birthday! Just like many opening nights, the sound was significantly off with the vocals and guitar mixes significantly lower than they should’ve been. Odds are that this will be fixed shortly. Seeing her backed by a three piece band was a treat, although visually they didn’t do much to energize her set. Her cover of Eyes For You was full of energy as well of her single Outta Here.

Esmee Denters – Runtime 24 Minutes
Pros: Your first chance to see an original YouTube star in the states with a live band.
Cons: Backup band’s performance wasn’t visually up to par. The most excited they were to jam was after Esmee walked off stage.
Best song: Eyes For You

1. My Destiny
2. Diva
3. Just Can’t Have It
4. Eyes For You (Cover)
5. Gravity
6. Outta Here

One thing’s for sure, in the last week Honor Society has ironed out many of the wrinkles from the opening night of the tour. This time, from the first note to the last they were on. Each member was exceptional and Michael continues to show his gift with nearly flawless vocals, backed with strong passion for each song. In addition, you can’t help but love what Alexander brings to the show. One thing was very obvious with this show – Honor Society are miles from being labeled a “new act”, but instead should be considered a seasoned band with very talented musicians and capable of displaying an energy on stage that you can’t teach.

In the middle of the set, it was hinted that there was a special guest at the show and the song Here Comes Trouble was dedicated to her. It was none other than Jessie James…. and yeah, she’s a pistol! Also in attendance was Zach Carter of the Carter Twins, with Jordan Pruitt also being on the guest list but apparently didn’t show.

Unfortunately, there were still some issues with the tracks. The background vocals went out during Over You and Michael deserves credit for quickly asking the crowd to sing along (to cover it up). Definitely the low point of the night occurred when they performed a cover You Really Got Me by rock legends, Van Halen. The backing tracks failed to play during the opening riff which exposed the fact Jason’s guitar was barely audible, with the track being about 75% louder than what was actually being played “live.”

Honor Society – Runtime 58 Minutes
Pros: Amazing performance
Cons: The act is no longer meeting with fans. I doubt the group is to blame for this but their careers are going to get much worse, before getting better with this policy.
Best song: See U In The Dark

1. Full Moon Crazy
2. Sing For You
3. Two Rebels
4. Where Are You Now
5. My Own Way
6. Here Comes Trouble
7. You Got Me Goin’ Now (Cover)
8. Don’t Close The Book
9. Why Didn’t I
10. Nobody Has To Know
11. Over You
12. See U In The Dark

HSLIVE'S NOTE I am not sure what he means when he says they are "no longer meeting with fans" Fanclub members won M&Gs and those who bought merch were allowed in the M&G. They will be doing this for all their shows! Due to time constraints, the number of wristbands for buying merch MIGHT be limited at some show.

Honor Society at 107.5 The River

Honor Society stopped by McFadden's Garage at 107.5 The River. Here are just SOME of the pictures from their visit. Head over to 107.5's Gallery for a TON more pics!

A few more pics are under the cut!

How can I meet HS on the Fasionably Late tour?

This is a popular question! And here are the details (thanks to Kat for clarification):

1. Win from honorsocietymusic.com The official fanclub! This will get you through the M&G line first and you will get a PHOTO with the guys (no autograph)

2. Buy merch! Wristbands ARE limited so you might want to try and get your merch early. Details should be at the merch stand. This will get you through the M&G line and get you an AUTOGRAPH. No photos.

Also be sure to keep an ear out for your local radio stations. They might be doing a brief performance and M&G there, like in Nashville they did a set at 107.5 The River and the fans got to meet them after that :)

Marisa's Nashville Review!

Hello everyone, my name is Marisa and here is a recap on one of the best days ever!

Where to begin...ok so my sister Rina, my brother Raul and friend Claudia got to the venue (The Rutledge) around 1:30pm to start making the line, there were only about 6 people on the line which made me really happy...front row for sure! We waited...and waited...and waited. People weren't showing up because a lot of fans went to 107.5 the River for a free acoustic performance (which they did last time they were in Nashville and I had gone to it) So things were pretty quiet for a while. Around 4pm one of the people from the venue comes and tells us that due to Honor Society's plane getting in late and the performance at the radio station the show was pushed back 2 hours!!! So we ended up waiting for 6hrs because they didn't let us in until 7:30 pm. At the time it always seems ridiculous to wait for someone that long...but once you're inside it's all worth it. While outside we could hear Honor Society soundchecking and we all sang along to Full Moon Crazy...twice.

My friends and I got first row and I was next to some awesome girls I met outside in line (Cara and Erin)
We talked some, about our respective websites (mine being http://www.honorsocietypictures.org) and that's when Inter Adam (from 107.5 the river) came out to introduce Esmee Denters and then she came out...she was good. But I always find it awkward when male bands have female openers...it just doesn't feel right to have a girl sing you love songs, which it's what Esmee was doing to me...completely awkward.

With her set done and the crew getting the stage set up for Honor Society, Erin and I started plotting how to take the setlist after the show :) and once they taped the setlist to the floor it dawned on me that I was first row to see Honor Society again and I got crazy excited and nervous. Excited because I was gonna get to see Honor Society, nervous because I was seeing Honor Society from so close...and when I say close I mean close! So close that Andy's microphone was inches from my face.

I love being in a room full of fans as the anticipation of seeing their favorite band starts building up and you feel like the whole room is about to explode with excitement.

With that being said...they totally psyshed us out a few times...first with the fog machine, which lead to fans thinking HS was coming out, which made everyone scream. PSYCH!

Then they dimmed all the lights, which again lead all the fans to believe that they were coming out, which made everyone scream...PSYCH AGAIN!

But like they always say, third time's a charm...all the lights when out and BAM! Honor Society comes in and it felt like the whole building was shacking because of all the screaming going on...and I LOVED IT! Of course I was also screaming bloody murder.

First song..."Full Moon Crazy" with an arranged intro that was complete tease-tastic, getting us all excited and then stopping, then getting us all excited again and stopping again. Watch this and you'll know what I mean http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Km3Evon0tW0 let's just say, they know how to keep us fans hooked, hahaha.

"Full Moon Crazy" set the mood for the night and the instant they started singing the party was started. And believe me, the night was a party!! Fun Fact. I actually had to control myself from stretching my hand too much, because everytime I would, I would be in danger of touching Andy or whoever came to sing in front of me and I didn't want them to think I was molesting them.

Next in line was "Sing For You" which of course got us all jumping and after that a classic and a crowd pleaser "Two Rebels" (oh oh do you trust me enough...sorry I just have to sing every time that song is mentioned). "Where are you now" was next and then "My Own Way" which I love, specially when everyone in the crowd starts waving their hands from side to side, love it!

"Here Comes Trouble" was next...and man I love that song so much! They also did a little arrangement to this song, a very slow intro, here's a video of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8WIdYzzfO8 ...and I stopped writing and watched that video twice, I just love that song so much, it's such a fun song! I like to pretend I'm the girl they're singing about (oh hush, you know you do too!) Hahahaha. After that they did a cover of "You really got me" that's gonna be appearing in Alvin and The Chipmunks 2...awesome!!! I loved it, they added their little twist to it, a little bit of gentlemen-ess, a bit of funk and a whole lot of awesomeness into the mix and the song rocked!!

After that song, Alex came down from the drums and it was time for "Don't Close the Book"...but not before the boys started teasing all of us again with their towels full of sweat (how sexy...haha)...are they throwing them to the crowd...no...yes...no...yes...YES!!! And that's when Alex came to our side to say hi to the crowd and I was almost squished to death, hahaha. He grabbed my hand and said "hey what's up"...he recognized me, why does he always catch me by surprise like that? I always think he is the least likely to remember me, but I'm always wrong...he always remembers me. Of course the song is always amazing, so beautiful and the crowd singing it in unison makes it that much chill-worthy.

Next up, another classic with a twist "Why Didn't I" and after that "Nobody Has To Know" which also happens to be a favorite of mine (let me see you bounce...), the bass in this song is amazing, and I'm not saying this just because I love Andy...I'm saying it because it's true, my favorite part of this is song is the bass! You can feel it in your chest cavity, making you lungs and heart vibrate, love it!

"Over You" next, cue scream until your throat bleeds. I pointed to Alex and he pointed at me...clearly he is not over me...hahaha, just kidding (I don't want my sister to kill me in my sleep).

Clap, Clap, Clap..."you were always the girl..." even more screams. "See U in the Dark" is the perfect classic to finish the show with, I believe 99% of the people in the crowd were honor rolling their A**es off. As the song finished a younger fan (read: clearly a teenie) jumped on stage and hugged all the guys, they were laughing. And after that they all took a group bow and left.

But of course with the gentlemen, the party never stops there. Got to do the greet and meet thanks to the fanclub. And in this part I'm just gonna go fast cause I don't want it to sound like I'm showing off. I got hand hugs and had someone get my meet and greet picture from the summer to be signed by them. After that we went inside the venue again and hung out with them and maybe 10 more fans for 40 minutes talking about anything and everything. Got pictures and countless hugs, made jokes, talked with Alex and Andrew about "the thing" that ended up confusing everyone around us because no one was getting it that we were just talking about nothing in particular, hence "the thing". Andy gave me his pick, and got him to listen to my ringtone (the gentlemen's club song) and of course he thought it was the coolest thing ever. Talked about failblog, FML and told him to check out peopleofwalmart.com...more hugs and more laughs, they have to leave, hugs again, Andrew accidentally hits my sister in the head and he says its a love bump, gah I love him. I didn't want to leave but at the same time I didn't want to take time away from them. So we left...and that was a super extra short version of everything that went on that night, because believe me, even though this is long, it doesn't begin to cover the epicness of that night. Nashville is always one my favorite places to see bands, it never dissapoints, something epic always happends. Believe me. And to the gentlemen, thanks for always being so freaking nice! Love you!
