Follow Friday: Jessie James

Jessie was an opening act for a few dates on the Jonas Brothers World Tour. Most recently, she opened for Honor Society at their sold out Full Moon Crazy show in NYC.
Below is her official bio:
For Jessie James, music is her life, her passion, her lover. She won’t even date, with her focus saved strictly for her career. She has no other choice. And now, she is fully prepared to see all those childhood dreams finally come true.
Jessie’s self-titled debut album is set for release July 28th. Recorded in Los Angeles, New York, Nashville, and London, the album takes off with “Wanted,” the full-throttle dance-rock scorcher that Jessie co-wrote with American Idol judge and hit songwriter Kara DioGuardi (along with Mitch Allen and David Hodges). There’s also “Bullet,” a catchy rock gem co-written with pal Katy Perry, and “My Cowboy,” the twangy track first raved about last summer by Perez Hilton on listen-to-this-ride-em-good. Another featured song is the soulful ballad “Burning Bridges” which shows additional depth to James’ powerful voice.
“Wanted” has been growing at radio with over 80 stations on board, with markets such as Atlanta, Dallas, Charlotte, Nashville, Providence, Orlando, Kansas City, Houston, Pittsburgh, and Hartford leading the way. iTunes featured the sultry “Wanted” video as the “Video Of The Week” recently and over 200,000 fans downloaded it. It was also AOL's Video Of The Day on May 20. The single has sold over 50,000 units in the last three weeks. And now with The Jonas Brothers tour, Jessie has begun her rise to the top of pop.
"Blue Jeans," can be heard in the Touchstone film and Hollywood Records album soundtrack of Confessions of A Shopaholic, starring Isla Fisher, the first film adaptation of Sophie Kinsella's popular books. Her debut single, "Wanted" hit radio airwaves in April. Request it on your local station now!!!

Jonas Brothers delight St. Louis fans
Honor Society came as a junior Jonas Brothers group, and that's meant in a good way (and despite the fact the guys from Honor Society are older). Jonas Brothers discovered Honor Society, and they could easily go down a similar path with songs such as "Where Are You Now," "Full Moon Crazy" and "Two Rebels."

Pear Bureau Northwest "Pears Up" with honor society
Honor Society (www.myspsace.com/honorsociety), a four-piece band hailing from New Jersey, are heralded as rising stars whose explosive growth has been fueled in part by MySpace, where the band has more than 40,000 friends and over 2.5 million plays of their songs on the band’s profile. Rolling Stone recently selected the band as a breakout artist to watch calling their music “radio-friendly slick R&B Pop” and stating the band has “already achieved heartthrob status.” MTV selected the band as a Buzzworthy artist and both Seventeen and Teen Vogue magazines have recently featured the band.
With a dedicated fan base built from the ground up, the band recently played to packed houses at sold-out shows at New York City’s Irving Plaza and Los Angeles’ House of Blues on Sunset Boulevard. The band is reaching out to new audiences this summer as they join the Jonas Brothers on the North American leg of the “Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009” in conjunction with Honor Society’s own “Full Moon Crazy Tour,” where the act is headlining separate shows in 19 different cities on selected tour dates.
In a partnership that is unique for a produce item, Pear Bureau Northwest has engaged with Honor Society as a tour sponsor to promote USA Pears through a comprehensive integrated marketing program. “Pivotal to the mix is an exciting contest that allows entrants a chance to ‘Pear Up’ with Honor Society with ticket giveaways and special chances to win a meet and greet with the band as they tour North America,” notes Dennis James, director of marketing for Pear Bureau Northwest. Tickets and passes to meet Honor Society can be won on www.usapears.org. Grocery retail partners have signed on to promote pears as well as the exciting consumer contests taking place in each metropolitan area playing host to Honor Society as they tour this summer.
Radio and print advertising for all of the band’s concert dates and tours will feature the USA Pears name, logo, and website through the end of 2009. Additional special promotions and contests surrounding Honor Society and USA Pears are planned through December.

The Tennessee Valley’s best value in music entertainment continues to expand its super-star line up of performers as the second wave of acts are announced for Big Spring Jam XVII. The region’s premiere music festival celebrates its 17th anniversary as it returns this September 25th – 27th to Big Spring International Park in downtown Huntsville.

Review: The Blender Theatre at Gramercy 7.22.09
When we got to the theatre, the line was already wrapped around the building! It was very deceiving because it was broken up in front of the store fronts. We walked, and walked, and walked until we got to the end of the line. Guess who we found?! Allyson, a longtime Honor Society fan and someone that we met last summer. We chatted it up a bit and listened to the fans around us. It's so great to see people excited to see Honor Society!
It was really, really, hot out, but I don't think Katie got sunburned. We were all getting impatient because it was so hot out and the line wasn't moving at 6:30 p.m. The line eventually started moving and we were relieved. When we got into the building, Katie and I went downstairs to pre-order our CDs in order to get into the meet and greet. YAY. Then we made our way to the stadium seats, center row. We had a great view of the stage.
As posted earlier, this was the set list: Nobody has to know, Two rebels, Full moon crazy, Where are you Now, My Own Way, Over You, Sing For You, Don't Close the Book, Here Comes Trouble, See U in the Dark.
Kat had tweeted during the show that she was sitting with some family members and that the tears were flowing. I'll be honest with you...for the past three days, I have felt the tears come during See U In The Dark. I am so proud of Honor Society. Over (almost) a year and a half ago, they had maybe 10-15 people supporting them at concerts and it's been such a thrill to see their fan-base grow. I'm so glad to be part of their continuing success — supporting them in anyway I can by telling others about them, buying their merchandise/music or going to their shows. In one way or another, we are all part of their continuing success. They sold out The Blender Theatre BY THEMSELVES (of course, with the help of people twitter-ing about it and Ned/Janice/Kat/etc. selling tickets at the JB concerts). But really, it's their music, their lyrics and their personalities that sold out their first Full Moon Crazy show, and I expect that there will be more selling out soon.
After the show, it was almost like a mass exodus to the merch table, so we hung back for a bit. I was expecting Ned to come out with his megaphone to tell us what was going on, but no one came. About 45-minutes later, there was SOME order put into place and we hopped in line. It was great to see the guys and give our last goodbyes until August. The hugs, the smiles, the compliments back-and-forth was amazing. It was a great ending of our own FMC tour...

Full Moon Crazy - 7/20 show
Please link back to honorsocietylive.com if posting this video anywhere.
Uniondale 7/21
I didn't get my hopes up as to where the seats would be - $50 even if they were 2 nosebleed seats was a good deal. We got to the venue early today and saw that we were in section 108 row *A*. Front row at the end of one of the cat walks! Very cool.
Honor Society really seemed on tonight. I don't know if it was because of the excitement of the seats and meeting Jordin, but they just rocked it tonight and it was such high energy. Or maybe we knew our tour was coming to a close and we had to make the best of it. They also added "Nobody Has To Know" into the set list - which is my FAVORITE song of theirs so that was a very happy addition :)
When we went to the Jordin M&G we saw Honor Society leaving their M&G, but unfortunately they did not see us. Ned was there, of course with his megaphone (we're thinking of nicknaming him Mega-Ned) trying to sell tickets to tomorrow nights show.
After the show, we ventured over to Gate 4 because Andy was hoping that we'd hang around a bit. We couldn't get his attention and the guards were not very pleased we were hanging around near the table. The line to meet the guys was ridiculously long, so we decided we will pre-order tomorrow to see the guys since it our "last hurrah" By the looks of the line - their first week sales should be pretty impressive.
AND Ned managed to sell ALL of his tickets to the NYC show!! When we first arrived at the table he had 18 left, then it was down to 9, 3 and then ONE "golden ticket" left.
I can't wait for tomorrows show, but I am sad that all the fun with Honor Society will be over, at least for now. (Arthur Ashe Kids Day and the PA Festival are still coming up, so far!)
Since our seats were so awesome, we got some really great pics of the guys. I'm about to eat dinner (yes, at nearly 1:30 am) and then I'll probably crash on my bed... so expect them at some point tomorrow, provided I get up early enough to get everything tagged and all that before leaving for the NYC show!

Show photos - 7/20 Uniondale

If posting these photos anywhere else, please link them back to HonorSocietylive.com
Verizon In-Store Pictures 7/20

Here are some of my photos from the signing yesterday on Long Island!

After the signing, they came back out to hang for a bit and take pics and sell tickets for the show on Wednesday. My cousin and I were able to get photos with Andy and Mike. It was very hectic so my recommendation would be to pick out who you want a picture with and then just try and stay near where they are - but they do kind of move around so it might be tricky! They didn't stay very long afterwards.
The store was also doing giveaways for VIP passes, which let you go in the line first (and maybe get a photo? I'm not sure, we did not win!) and they were doing Jonas soundcheck giveaways as well. Some of the winners ended up in tears. We didn't win those either. Oh well.

Article: 'Tween, country singers featured at Rock the Fall at Blue Mountain Ski Area
Nickelodeon actor/singer Drake Bell, Disney pop group Honor Society and country stars Jimmy Wayne and Josh Gracin will headline Blue Mountain Ski Area's outdoor Rock The Fall music festival.
This year's Rock the Fall will be a full-fledged festival, with free admission to those who don't pay for the concerts. And the concert tickets will be priced lower, Blue Mountain spokesman Jim Dailey said.
It will be held over two days instead of the three last year, and have some reserved seats, Dailey said. The concerts will start at 2 p.m. and feature five acts each day, extending into the evening.
The Oct. 10-11 festival also will feature craft and artisan vendors, food, free ski lift rides, wall climbs, outdoor amusements, giveaways and fall foliage at the ski area near Palmerton.
''We wanted to have a full day of music entertainment each day, and that just wasn't possible on a Friday,'' Dailey said of the decision to make it a two-day event. ''This year will have a festival atmosphere. If they don't want to go over to the concert side, that's fine. We'll still have free entertainment and things like chain saw carving demonstrations each day. They'll still have a fall festival experience.''
Saturday's concert lineup will focus on the 'tween and teen market, with Bell, 23, who starred in Nickelodeon's ''Drake & Josh'' from 2004 to 2007, and on ''The Amanda Show'' from 1999-2002. He also won three Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards as Favorite Male TV Actor, appeared in movies and has released two solo discs.
Also playing Saturday will be Honor Society, the opening act for this summer's Jonas Brothers tour (it plays sold-out shows at Philadelphia's Wachovia Center on Thursday and Friday). Honor Society this month became the first act the Jonases signed to their new label.
Also playing will be boy band V Factory and Tiffany Giardina, whose songs are on the soundtrack of the Disney movie ''Another Cinderella Story.'' V Factory's lead singer, Asher Book, 20, has a featured role in the movie ''Fame,'' which opens Sept. 25. He opened for Kevin Rudolf at Allentown's Mayfair festival two months ago,
Rock The Fall's second night will feature Wayne. He made the list of ''Next Big Things'' in USA Today and People magazine's ''Sexiest Singers'' of 2003 after the release of his debut album, which produced four Top 20 country hits. Last year, his second album, ''Do You Believe Me Now,'' hit No. 1 on the country charts with the hit title track and ''I Will.'' Wayne will open for Brad Paisley on Sept. 5 at the Allentown Fair.
Also playing will be Gracin, who finished fourth on ' 'American Idol'' in 2002 while active in the Marine Corps. He released his self-titled debut disc in 2004. It produced a No. 1 hit and two other top five hits. His second album, ''We Weren't Crazy'' in 2008, produced five more chart singles, including its Top 10 title track.
Joining him will be Randy Houser, whose debut album, ''Anything Goes,'' last year hit the Top 20 on the country charts and produced the Top 20 hits ''Anything Goes'' and ''Boots On.''
More acts will be announced for both days, Blue Mountain's Web site says.
Rock The Fall last year was Oct. 17-20, but below-freezing temperatures kept crowds to 700 to 1,050 a night, and prompted Blue Mountain's move to an earlier date and daytime start for warmer weather.
The festival last year also was general admission, with spectators bringing chairs and blankets. Dailey said this year there will be 1,000 reserved seats each day in addition to general admission. The site, at the bottom of a ski slope, seats 7,500.
Tickets for both days dropped $10 -- to $25 for reserved and $20 for general admission -- to ''be family friendly,'' Dailey said.
Tickets are available at http://www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 610-826-7700, ext. 214.

Crazy Donkey - Full Moon Crazy
When we got there, doors weren't yet open, so we chilled in the car. (We're already sunburned, no need for that to get any worse!) until doors opened since we'd be hanging out near the back anyway once we got inside. (Although it turned out to be more like hanging out on the side) The first opener was already on stage, Keli Price after Keli finished his set, Score 24 took the stage. A lot of people there seemed to know who they were and were really into their set. Both openers were very good.
About 2pm, Honor Society made their way on stage. They talked about how they were from NY and this was like a homecoming show for them. (A lot of the band members families were in attendance) And encouraged everyone to go to the show in NYC on Wednesday night. They were even selling tickets to the show at the merch booth. (Lauren and I already have ours though! Can't wait!)
After their set, Lauren spotted CJ from Push Play! I thought it was nice that he decided to come by to check out their set. I know he had mentioned catching their set at bamboozle as well.
We got in line for the fanclub meet and greet and met the guys. I told Andrew and Alex it was my birthday, which seemed to excite Alex and he turned and told Jason and Mike it was my birthday. Jason said he had a present for me and gave me one of his picks! Very cool. I've got a LOT of picks, but none have every actually come from the person who used them so that was very cool for me to have one personally given to me :)
I also warned them that my cousin would be going to the show with me today and we'd be seeing them at the Verizon signing.
Lauren went through the line next and I know Andrew asked her what other shows she'd be going to (Tuesday and Wednesday - but we don't have M&G or anything for Tuesday so we probably won't get to talk to them!) and then we headed outside.
We waited for a bit and spotted CJ, so I got my picture with him and then we were off to find lunch!
Then we got stuck in massive amounts of traffic on the way home, made it home about 7:30. But we had time to reminisce about all our shows from the past year or so and how things have changed!
I'm off to Long Island again now - First to the Verizon in-store and then to the Nassau Coliseum show! I'll post about that on Tuesday after I get some much needed sleep~!
